Goulas Castle (Emporio)
The Observatory Tower in the settlement of Emporio was built in the Venetian style, around the 15th century. From the middle of the 20th century, however, it was restored to a square building. Next to it, nearby, is the "kasteli" [fortified settlement] of the village of Emporio, where one can tour the narrow alleys surrounded by traditional houses, and enjoy its architecture.

Casteli Castle (Pyrgos)
The castle was built so that there was access only from one entrance, the "Door", in order to protect it from pirates. Next to the entrance, there is a church, as there is next to all the castles of the island. Under the castle, there was a network of passages, which they used for precaution or escape, whenever conditions demanded it. The Tower became the capital of Santorini after Skaros Castle was abandoned in Imerovigli in the mid-18th century. Later, Fira became the capital of the island.

The Rock of Skaros: The Fortress
The fortress of Skaros, originally called "Epano Kastro" or "La Roka", was built during the Byzantine period and was abandoned by the inhabitants at the beginning of the 18th century. All that is left now to protest his past are a few ruins and Agios Ioannis, a small church with a wonderful view.
